I ran my first practice 5k!!

For the first time, I was able to run a full 3.2 miles without stopping to walk. I think I nearly passed out by the time I got back to my house, but I did it. I damned respectable time too, 29:32! Sub 30:00 is AWESOME!

I swear...I've never been beat by anything in my life, I will not be beat by running. I don't care how many times I injure myself, I will figure it out.

Oh, weight update today as well. Not as much as I'd hoped, but it's still less.

ACCOUNTABILITY!!!!

I added a new training log. Maybe this will make me more accountable to the days I bum it up.

Day 1: 3 miles run. I'm hitting 100% WOOOHOOO

New running plan

I think I figured out why my running seems to screw my legs up all the time. I go a week at 3 3-mile runs. I have no pain, so I'm like "OK all's well, let's start increasing by 10% next week". Then next week I run an extra mile and screw my legs up. I'm going to try to run 3 weeks at 3 3-milers and see how that feels. If that goes well, THEN I'll increase the milage. I never give myself a chance to see if I truly was pain free after a 3 3-miler week because I immediately start increasing milage.

Caching my blog

For some reason the cached info on people's computers doesn't seem to want to update when I update my blog. If you're still seeing weight as anything but 195.5, then you're looking at an old copy. Perhaps try dumping your temporary internet files and see if that helps.

New Picture!

A new photo from the 4th of July weekend is up. When you put them side-by-side you can kinda see a difference. My progress is still slower than I hoped, but there are upsides to this as well. By losing the weight so slowly, I'm incredibly stable, and don't seem to put a bunch of weight back on when I fall off the wagon for a few days (such as the 4th of July weekend). Also, I don't get that nasty loose skin that a lot of fast weight droppers get.

I should get some fancy graph of my progress up or something. My little runner guy is plugging along down at the bottom of the blog, but it's nice to see the trendline over time slowly falling. We'll see.

Oh! I have a new hit counter as well. If you don't see it, it's under my little bio on the left. Since there's only like 5 people who read this thing, I have it counting all hits and not unique visitors.
