I'm calling the half marathon. Too much work needs to be done before my legs can take it. I'm starting a lifting routine instead. I'll hopefully go:
Mon: Lift
Tues: Run
Wed: Lift
Thurs:Run
Fri: Off
Sat: Lift
Sun: Run
We'll see.

Bummer!!!! Guys whine so much less. I'm all "poor me" on the first time halfer thread. You are just to the point and move on.

Well... I've done this a couple times in the past. It all comes down to the spirit's ready, the lungs are ready, the legs, however, are not.
If my options are
1) Screw my body up pushing a half marathon I'm not ready for
2) Get in good shape by backing off on the running and adding in other exercise
well... that's really no contest.
